After both the FAST and HRPP parties won 25 seats at Samoa’s general elections all eyes were on independent Tuala Ponifasio to decide which party he would join and govern Samoa for the next five years.

Tuala Ponifasio has chosen to go with FAST to break the deadlock however since then a HRPP woman candidate has entered Parliament under the law that requires parliament to have 10% of its members as women.
