Humanity leans towards a merit based, transactional model of action and reward. In today's Gospel reading, Peter asks, Whats in it for us? and he gets a surprising answer about the first being last and the last being first. When equity overshadows equality, when the first become last, and the last become first, we scream that's not fair... but God's justice is something else entirely.
