Scripture: Ephesians 6:1–4 (NIV)

“Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. ‘Honor your father and mother’—which is the first commandment with a promise—‘so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.’ Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.”

Explanation:

Paul emphasizes the importance of both obedience and nurturing within the family. Children are to obey and honor their parents, and parents—especially fathers—are to avoid harsh treatment and instead raise their children in the ways of the Lord. Families grounded in grace reflect the love and truth of God to the world.
