The Other Side of Education

Faith-based education (Pt 1): A Jewish perspective

Listen Later

Faith-based schooling options are preferred by a growing number of families for many reasons. Some parents on the other hand have reservations about the tendency to make their children less tolerant or open-minded to other faiths outside of theirs.

What about you, on a scale of 0 to 5, how important is faith inclusion when you in your education choices for your children? Is it a top priority in your decisions and what positive outcomes have you seen in others as they immerse into the society beyond their schooling?

Debbie Gispan, my special guest in this first part of our episode series dons her mum hat and part-consultant hat at the end too to educate us in this authentic, informative and engaging conversation on her experience as a Jewish mum with kids in Jewish schools.

Did you know that there are so many Jewish holidays that are observed and also I finally got a deeper understanding of what keeping 'kosher' means! I'll make sure not to post in on 'Shabbat' too. (Showing off some of the interesting things learnt on this episode already!)

Okay, so Debbie Gispan is also a seasoned education consultant who helps with placements for international families in boarding schools in the UK, so make sure to reach out via www.panoba.co.uk if you're considering this for your child.
