The Surah that inspired the heart of an African King 👑

It was Ja’far Ibn Abi Talib who recited these verses in the halls of the court of Najashi that turned his heart to the Muslims.

“That is Jesus son of Mary, a true word regarding what they differ on” (Surah Maryam)

In the wake of the recent tragedy in Bondi, and in recognition of the courage shown by Ahmed Al Ahmed, this khutba offers a moment of reflection during challenging times for all Australians.

This Thursday we will be returning to our series through the Quran! Picking up where we left off.

We’ll be covering Surah Yunus, Hud and Yusuf. These are the Surahs the Prophet said gave him grey hairs.

These are very theology heavy surahs that focus on faith vs skepticism along with a beautiful telling of the story of Yusuf.

The Final

Last week we learnt from Ustadh Zareef that to liberate our holy lands, each of us has a part to play 🌍✨. Our role begins with creating and fostering an environment that inspires the ummah—guiding and nurturing our future generations 🌱.

After the Qadr of Allah ﷻ, Salahuddin did not liberate Al-Quds alone, but with an ummah that shared his vision. 🤝

This week will be crossing over 1/3 of the Quran alhamdulillah! We will be going through Surah Anfaal and Surah Tawbah inshallah. These two surahs speak about two of the most important moments in the Seerah - the Battle of Badr and the Conquest of Makkah. And of course, a deeply personal and moving story of tawbah (redemption) for Ka’b Ibn Maalik.

We are slowing down our pace just a bit, so it is an opportunity for people to catch up with the Utruja challenge as well! This week, it will be just to the end of Surah Tawbah (so just 1 Juz and a bit).
