✍️ Faith, Fear, and Freedom Part II: When Historical Truth Turns Into Overreach
History is powerful. But when the story swings too far in one direction, truth turns into distortion.
In the Cold War era, schools downplayed racism and inequality to project national unity. Today, many classrooms lean hard the other way—emphasizing oppression so strongly that some young minorities may feel trapped by history, even while sitting in universities with more opportunity than ever before.
This is not about denial. It’s about balance. America’s story is both oppression and resilience, betrayal and reform. If we only teach one side, we fail the next generation.
