Today Kavan sits down with guest (and former FCC employee) Tone Waters to discuss the practical needs in our communities in light of current federal operations in the Twin Cities area, focusing on Burnsville. During the conversation, we spotlight some trustworthy organizations or resource drives where you can volunteer time or donate resources.

360 Communities - This is a local organization that includes a food shelf, limited financial assistance (rent, utilities, etc), support for domestic abuse survivors, and more. Visit here: https://360communities.org

Mission Outpost - This is a local resource hub that’s a ministry of Prince Of Peace, a nearby Lutheran church. They provide food, clothing, kitchen items, linens, household products, and more. They also have dental and eye clinics primarily for uninsured folks. Visit here: https://popmn.org/mission/mission-outpost/

The Open Door - This is a local area food shelf serving the south metro area of the Twin Cities. Visit here: https://theopendoorpantry.org

La Viña Burnsville - This local Spanish-speaking church has an ongoing food drive that is mobilizing hundreds of volunteers to collect, organize, and deliver donated food to folks sheltering in place. Faith Covenant recently partnered with World Vision for a Chosen event where 34 of our families and individuals signed up to sponsor a child. Children in Muchila, a rural community in Zambia, chose which of us would be their sponsors. Discipleship Director Kavan Rogness had the privilege of going to Muchila for that choosing party and also got to learn more about World Visions work in Zambia. He was able to share some of the stories during the September 21 Sunday service. Here we dig into some other pieces of his experience in Zambia.
