Listen Later

Faith Friday #3 | Holy Week

Faith Friday #3 will discuss how Jesus enters into Jerusalem Sunday, also known as Palm Sunday, to start the week ahead of Holy Week. Hello, everyone and welcome once again to Faith Friday’s on Front Porch Politics Podcast. In all the chaos that we have in our world right now, it seems like that everything is just in such a mess, and it seems like that no one knows what they’re supposed to do. I do want to remind you of something. I want you to have faith, faith in the simple fact that no matter how chaotic our world is, sometimes that God is still in control.

Faith Friday #3 Introduction

I’ve tried to take time each time that I wash my hands, and I want to encourage you to do the same, that I say the Lord’s prayer. And I try to repeat that to myself, and sometimes verbally out loud, as I’m washing my hands. Not only do I feel like this grows, my spirit, it also is a good way for me to remember the time that I’m supposed to be washing my hands. But this next upcoming week is very special to Christianity.

See what we’re gonna cover in today’s Faith Friday number three is that we need to remember that this next week starting Sunday, is which is also known this Palm Sunday. It’s Holy Week for all Christians, and you may be asking yourself, Why would that be the topic for the podcast? Well, that’s a great question. See, sometimes we lose perspective in life on what is taking place in our world. We get busy with our life, whether it be our family or our job, or whatever.

A Special Week for Christians

But this next upcoming week to all Christians is very sacred and very special. No, I’m not saying that it has any magical powers, as some people might think that Christians believe, but is the remembrance of what this next week is going to hold. So each day as you celebrate this with your family, or to yourself, is between you and your savior. I want you to remember the events that took place. And next Friday’s Faith Friday will actually consist of something very special. I’m looking so forward to next Friday’s Faith Friday because it’s something very sacred to me.

I want to share something personal with you. Back when I was teaching in the classroom every year at Easter, the Friday before, we also know this as Good Friday. I would take the time to read that Scripture to my students in each class that I taught. And I’m sure that there’s a lot of people who may have felt like that was the separation of church and state violation. Maybe it was, but this is what I felt led to do. You know, I never had a parent complain about that, and I’m very thankful.

Faith Friday #3: Sharing the Faith

I work in Alabama, so you’re probably not surprised that I didn’t have any complaints And I’m not saying that you could do that everywhere in our country. But I felt like I always had the freedom and liberty to do so. That being said, this upcoming week is so special because of the events that are going to transpire. Now I know that I seem like I’m rambling on, but I want you to take time each day. And look, you have no excuse, and I’m putting myself at the top of this list. No excuse not to take time each day to remember what was building up and what Friday is going to be all about.
