These 2 things should not be viewed as a dichotomy.  Neither should they be viewed as stages or equal parts of our salvation.  Yet faith and effort are inseparable.  Both the epistle to the Hebrews and the epistle of James make the connection of faith and effort unmistakable.  But what is the actual relationship of these 2 things?  And, how do we discern the difference in our own lives?
