Genesis 32:22-30

In the story of Jacob wrestling with God today we see that God isn’t afraid to get down in the dirt with us and let us struggle with him. He doesn’t back down from stepping into the ring with us in order to show us the answers our struggling hearts need. His goal is to cause us to trust in his promises and cling to his mercy ever tighter, just like Jacob cried out, “I will not let you go unless you bless me.” Jacob’s audacity is answered with the even bigger audacity of God’s grace—giving him the blessing that was promised.

We’re about to find out that God is actually the one who has said, “I will not let go of you until I give you exactly what I’ve promised.”
