This year, Freedom Day coincides with the 29th anniversary of South Africa's first democratic elections. One may argue that the leading parties haven’t achieved any notable strides yet because South Africa has had democracy for 29 years. Unemployment, poverty, and inequality are just a few of the things that limit people's freedom.
