This Old Testament narrative illustrates how God is pleased to reward an act of obedience to His word when circumstances argue against the propriety of that obedience. While it is true that without faith, it is impossible to please God, it is equally true that God rewards those who diligently seek Him in ways that far exceed what the mind can conceive.
