This week on Fake It Out Loud, Sarah is joined by Surreal Panther — Europe’s premier tribute to glam-metal chaos merchants Steel Panther.

Steel Panther are known for outrageous humour, huge riffs, and a stage show that walks the tightrope between satire and serious musicianship.

Formed after witnessing Steel Panther tear up Download Festival in 2010, Surreal Panther have spent years bringing that same high-energy experience to stages across the UK and Europe. Their shows capture the music, the characters, and the unapologetic fun that makes a Steel Panther gig unforgettable.

In this episode, we dive into:

• How Surreal Panther first came together
• The balance between comedy, character, and serious musicianship
• Life on stage in full glam-metal mode
• Wild moments that could only happen at a Surreal Panther show
• Lessons learned from building a tribute band that’s as theatrical as it is musical

In this episode of Fake It Out Loud, Sarah sits down with one of the UK tribute scene’s most relentless and respected drummers — Nuno — a musician whose career has been built on grit, risk, and an obsession with doing tributes properly.

From arriving in the UK with just a cymbal, a pedal, and £500… to tearing up stages with original band Sevenyearsdead (earning Kerrang! praise and catching the attention of Iron Maiden’s Bruce Dickinson)… to building powerhouse tribute acts including Mötley Crüde, Mötley Screw, and Pantera AD — Nuno’s story is about more than music. It’s about survival, reinvention, and staying loud when life gets real.

We dive into:

• The reality of building tribute bands that go beyond “just covers”
• The pressure of stepping into legendary drummers’ shoes — including Vinnie Paul
• Nearly two decades inside the evolving UK tribute scene
• The sacrifices tribute musicians make behind the scenes
• Balancing fatherhood, real life, and life on the road
• What legacy actually means when you live for the stage

This week, Sarah is joined by REANiMATION, a brand-new UK tribute to Linkin Park, a band whose music defined a generation and continues to mean everything to millions of fans around the world.

But this isn’t a note-for-note tribute. Their focus is on energy, emotion, and impact and channelling the raw power of Hybrid Theory and Meteora, reworking iconic live arrangements, revisiting remixes, and even embracing Linkin Park’s most recent chapter.

• Taking on a legacy that fans hold incredibly close
• Starting a tribute band from scratch — nerves, chemistry, and first-show pressure
• The UK tribute scene and where REANiMATION see themselves within it
•  And the debut of a brand-new segment for Season 2: Vocal Combat
