Falcons heavily penalized in loss to Jets
The Falcons jumped out to a 16-0 lead, but the reserves could not build on the lead. Falcons coach Arthur Smith actually apologized for the poor play in the second half as the Jets scored 21 unanswered points. Quarterbacks Marcus Mariota and Desmond Ridder both played well, but could not overcome 13 penalties for 121 yards. Also, tight end Kyle Pitts flashed is big play-making ability for a 52- yard pass play.
