The Falcons had their opportunities to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat, but couldn't overcome three second-had interceptions by quarterback Desmond Ridder and some shaky coaching down the stretch. Ridder tossed an ill-advised pass that was intercepted in the end zone and Smith had to call a timeout when the Falcons were not able to get their two-minute offense moving. The defense came up with five sacks and held the Commanders scoreless in the second half.
