With a chance to take the lead and post a dramatic win, Falcons quarterback Marcus Mariota tossed an interception in the final minute of the game. Washington's Daron Payne tipped the ball up in the air and cornerback Kendall Fuller came down with the interception. The pass was intended for running back Cordarrelle Patterson. The Falcons dropped to 5-7 on the season, but remain just a half-game out of first place in the NFC South.
