Falling leaves is an extended metaphor and an anti-war poem. I couldn’t remember this in the episode but it was written by Margret Postgate-Cole who was fighting against conscription (mandatory enrollment in the armed forces) War is something to be taken seriously and not to be supported, I may be looking at more poetry on this topic but I do not want anyone to think I am pro-war or encourage violence.
