Paul writes to Timothy about the many sins and pitfalls the church had fallen into. 

He points out to them that the teaching of the Law is for the lawless and that they don't understand what they are teaching.

Paul encourages them to pray, lead a tranquil and quiet life, and to lift up the name of Jesus.
