We wear many masks and have many identities depending on who's looking. Most of us are also very aware of the stereotypes placed upon us at birth, be it because of our gender, race, sexual preference, financial status, etc. But what happens when you find yourself pigeon holed into an identity that others have place on you in your career? What if playing into that stereotype gets you out of trouble or more opportunities even though it's not really you? Would you do it?! Today's special guest, DeShaude Barner, is not only gracing us with his glorious vocals, he's also sharing his journey as a closeted queer R&B artist who started his career "playing straight" to appease the industry and the masses. Alikona & Valery talk about their own encounters in the entertainment industry, but ish gets real when DeShaude breakdown how he went from walking needles to not giving a fluff even when it created a huge ripple in his relationship with his father. Besties, this one is loaded and amaaaazing! And we know that you're going to melt when you hear DeShaude's pipes. Happy listening, friends! XOXO Besties! P.S.
