In Shubra El-Kheima, Egypt, the murder of a wealthy man named Ayoub initially appeared to be a violent robbery. His wife, Silvia, and their three children claimed that two masked intruders had broken into their home. As forensic evidence was examined and police interrogations continued, however, serious inconsistencies began to surface. Investigators gradually shifted their focus from unknown attackers to the family itself. It emerged that Silvia, overwhelmed by debt and driven by greed, had manipulated her own children and enlisted two men—Bishoy, a former suitor for her daughter, and Samir, her daughter’s current fiancé—to help plan her husband’s killing for his inheritance. This was not the first attempt; there had been an earlier failed plan to assassinate him. The elaborate scheme was finally exposed when the couple’s son confessed, revealing Silvia as the mastermind behind a crime so shocking it was described as “beyond imagination.”
