What causes estrangement between parents and children? And what are the effects of estrangement on our society?
We're all sinful people, we all make mistakes, but we're still called to be the best parents, and the best children, that we can be. Estrangement from those we love is a source of great pain. How do we heal from that pain and move toward reconciliation?
Reconciliation comes when we love unconditionally, forgive others fully, and seek forgiveness for our own shortcomings with humility. When two people are estranged, they must both be able to have empathy and see things from the other's perspective. As Christians, we know that only God's love is perfect and able to forgive fully. When we put the love of God to work in our relationships, we're able to love with God's love. We can heal, we can move forward, we can find reconciliation.

Remember, there are two kinds of fire in the world: One that burns and consumes and one that burns and empowers. May God's word and God's love burn brightly in you, giving you the strength to face any fire. Until next time, little embers!
