Until the Trump administration reunites all 2,000+ children it chose to separate from their parents, these children will continue to experience hardship. The longer they remain separated, the more lasting the effect of the experience will be, for both the child and the parent.
Julie Ribaudo, Sara Stein, and Paige Safyer have been working to help children, parents, and foster caregivers make sense of the separation they are experiencing. Together, they have written a book, “Cecilia and the Long Walk”, which gives all involved a way of understanding and processing their separation from each other.
