This week, Cate and Liz begin a new series on Famous Disasters! They start with the Great Smog of London in 1952. When a rare weather pattern forced fog to mix with coal soot from London's buildings and vehicles it created a deadly smog that latest for five days and claimed thousands of lives. The impact of the disaster wasn't known immediately and eventually led to changes in legislation.
