Chapter 1: Raindrop 

The wind blew vigorously on Raindrop’s face as she stumbled through the scorching desert. Tiny specks of sand splashed on top of her like tiny little knives stabbing her shimmering scales. She needed to get to the palace now, no exceptions. The wind sounded like a symphony of flutes blowing in her ears. A huge gust of wind blew Raindrop over onto her back. She pushed with all her might to continue forwards. Finally, out in the distance she could spot the beautiful sandwing palace. She ran as fast as she could whilst the wind resisted her force like a brick wall. The sun glistened over her cold body. Her icewing self could not handle feverish temperatures. She closed her eyes and with all her might, she pushed as hard as she could. She had made it. The massive palace towered before her; it made her feel small. She gave a sigh of relief and limped into the large sandy gates of the sandwing palace. The guards stared her down like bald eagles stalking their prey. Ahead of her was queen Arid, reclining in her sparkly throne. “Your majesty,” Raindrop said as she lowered down into a curtsy. You wanted to be nice to queen Arid; she was a bad enemy to have. She was an animus, the third animus in the history of the  sandwings. Animuses are dangerous dragons; they can do anything they please. “Yes,” answered Arid making Raindrop jump. “I have an inquiry,” Raindrop stated stuttering. “Continue,” Arid gestured. “I am Raindrop, I have nowhere to stay. I am a tribrid of a Rainwing, Icewing and Seawing; each kingdom has kicked me out. Is it that I may stay in your beautiful kingdom o great queen?”  She explained. “And what will you give me in return?” Arid asked intrigued.  “I will work for you,” Raindrop replied confidently. Raindrop thought about her life for a moment then got hit by a train of thoughts. She spaced out.  

“Umm, excuse me?” A sassy voice said warningly. Raindrop looked up; it was the princess.
