FANCY Thoughts - E19 (Overcoming Rejection)

Hey Fancy Listeners, I think we’ve officially moved into summer, so we’ve moved to bi-weekly for a little bit. But promise that the content will be just as on point. So while you’re driving to that family BBQ, turn up the volume and tune in to this week’s FANCY Thought - Episode 19.

This week's episode is entitled: Overcoming Rejection

Once we recognize that rejection is simply someone else’s perception, their impression of a thing, we can remove the stigma and power of rejection. Each person has a right to refuse to accept something, but that does not change its value or worth. That goes for us as well. Someone’s inability to see our worth or their decision to reject it doesn’t change the truth that we’re still AWESOME!

Today’s definitions from the Collins Dictionary:

Reject:

to refuse to accept, acknowledge, use, believe, etc

To refuse to have, take, accept

to discard as useless or unsatisfactory

Accept:

generally regarded as true, valid, proper, etc.; conventional; approved

to receive as adequate, satisfactory, or valid

Perception:

Your perception of something is the way that you think about it or the impression you have of it.

the understanding, knowledge, etc. gotten by perceiving, or a specific idea, concept, impression, etc. so formed

Overcome:

If you overcome a problem or a feeling, you successfully deal with it and control it.

to make helpless; overpower or overwhelm
