This episode looks at West African music in the 60's, 70's and 80's and is inspired by the life and Music of Nigerian Funk legend William Ezechukwu Onyeabor. This era of political turmoil and change in African countries and elsewhere, saw the rise Afros, dashikis, blacksploitation films and new found black pride in America. It also gave us these funky tunes from post colonial Africa.
