Faoliu Teakau comes from the island of Funafuti in Tuvalu where he was an Assistant Environment Officer with the Department of Environment.  He is currently studying Marine Science at Otago University and his pilot project for this year is to understand the diel variability of carbon chemistry in temperate kelp forests.
