Revelation 20:14-15 might be the most tragic passage in all of Scripture, as it speaks of Gods final judgment toward unrepentant humanity. John Milton captured a little of the sorrow of hell in his famous workParadise Lost, and Dante did the same in his classic workInferno. Through graphic imagery and unforgettable poetry, these men have, in effect, taken us to the doorstep of hell and revealed the daunting message written upon the doorframe: "Farewell to hope." This is the fate of anyone whose name is not found written in the Book of Life.
