In Farleigh’s Five, we explores five rather different ideas.
Some are serious. Some are slightly quirky. This week -
First: do you ask the right questions? If you met a stranger and had one question you could ask what would it be?
Second are Brits reluctant to speak up? Maybe you need to learn the compliment sandwich.
Third: Do you trust humans more than machines even if humans make more mistakes?
Fourth: do you ever do anything moments after telling yourself not to do it? You might be suffering from the ironic process theory.
Fifth: Have you ever had a harmless addiction? Chocolate? Sweets?
I did some ridiculous things for my Pringles addiction.
Some serious, some quirky, all designed to make you think.
Farleigh’s Five is Richard Farleigh’s weekly take on business, psychology, human behaviour and the odd thing that catches his attention.
Farleigh's Five : Five Fresh Ideas
First: Personality. What do you do if you don’t think you’ve got one? I didn’t have any when I was a teenager, so I decided I there was some painful changes I needed to make.
Second: Is it unpatriotic to leave Britain? Some people are claiming it is.
Third: Public speaking. I’ve got some tips, but perhaps the most important one is knowing when not to speak. There are some situations where even a brilliant speech is doomed before you start.
Fourth: Divorce. Marriages are lasting longer. That sounds like good news, doesn’t it? But i’ll talk about why it may not be.
And Fifth: what do you do when you wake up in the middle of the night and need to go to the loo? I might have a solution.
