In this episode, I start off by sharing a bit of what's been happening in my personal life lately and how it inspired me to create an IG post as well as this podcast episode where I focus the conversation on prioritizing the big things first.
One of the things that I love about the Intuitive Eating framework is how it really teaches/encourages us to prioritize the most important things above everything else. The 10 principles of IE aren't rules to follow but principles to incorporate into the context of our day-to-day lives. So, I distill the principles of IE into 4 key points that I like to emphasize in my own life and with some of my clients.
I like to make things practical so I talk about how you can address the common, "I eat too much fast food" thought that many of us have in the context of IE and thinking in terms of applying 3 of these 4 points (one of the points is related to movement so I don't really include that in this example). I offer some thoughts on changing your mindset from "how can I cut back on fast food" to:
