FAST FORWARD AT PORTALSGATE IN 2026
Fasting at Portalsgate is not merely a ritual or some traditional spiritual culture; rather, it is a divine order that aligns our lives toward God's prophetic desires, purposes, and counsel, particularly at the beginning of the year. Our Fast Forward 2026 commenced four days ago. Today is the fifth day, and we believe the Lord will allow us to press further into His voice, direction, and the instructions that we are going to need to advance God's purpose in 2026 and, of course, in the days ahead.
I want to use this opportunity to invite everyone once again to join us for as long as you feel the Spirit of the Lord will guide and direct your heart to fast. We are going for 21 days, but we believe the Lord desires that many who join us will also be able to benefit from the spiritual renewal, transformation, and divine empowerment that we need to live in and advance.
You will agree with me that many of the situations we are faced with today require not just a level of direction, but a divine resource that will keep us focused and remain on the path of truth and righteousness, so we are not shifted away from the path that God has ordained for us.
As Isaiah 58:6 declares, "Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke?"
As we have been saying, our world has changed, and this change, of course, begins from a warfare in the realm of the spirit that is impacting every dimension of human life, including politics, culture, and economic systems. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms (Ephesians 6:12).
For us to be able to live life at the cutting edge of God's intention for our lives as those called to advance the Kingdom of God, we have to maintain a life of divine proximity with God, not giving the enemy the advantage to deceive us or, of course, compromise God's purpose for our lives.
This is the time to renew our strength and to keep our focus on the journey ahead. "But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint" (Isaiah 40:31).
More than ever before, we are required as kingdom citizens to stand as priests who can pray effectively in changing the spiritual climate and atmosphere of our families, communities, environments, and even our cities and nations. We must be a people whom the Lord has empowered and has been renewed with a fresh sense of capacity to live life in the context of God's prophetic counsel for this new day. In order to live our lives and walk in the spiritual ability and capacity Heaven requires, we have to maintain a spiritual posture of agility.
We cannot afford to be tired, weak, and be captured by the enemy in this season. We have to stand for our families, for our nations, for our communities, and our loved ones, particularly in that state of abiding in the presence of God. Jesus reminded us, "Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me" (John 15:4).
The Word of God must lead us and guide us into a position of authority where we are able to advance against the present darkness. We must calibrate every area of our lives, particularly our spiritual sensitivity, in order to maintain the spiritual authority and the governmental power to advance God's intention. "Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path" (Psalm 119:105).
