An investment banker helps organizations by providing advisory services on finance i.e. raising capital through stock-market. So, they work with management teams to market and sell companies, find potential targets to acquire, and make deals go through; or recommend the best terms and timing for a capital raise and then market that debt or equity issuance to investors. It means, when companies get launched on stock exchanges, investment bankers help them in the entire process. The investment bank will first calculate what the company is worth with a view to determining the price at which its client’s shares will list on the stock exchange via an Initial Public Offering or IPO.
