A car crashed into pedestrians outside the Supernova Superhero Comic Con at Melbourne Showgrounds in Ascot Vale, killing one man in his 20s and critically injuring another. The 33-year-old driver from Werribee mounted the footpath and travelled 120 metres, hitting three attendees before being apprehended by witnesses and an off-duty police officer. Police are investigating whether the incident was deliberate and if drugs, alcohol or speed were involved.
