A fatal fire at a St Mary's unit block in Western Sydney has claimed the life of a man in his 40s, whilst a woman of similar age sustained serious injuries after jumping from a third-floor window to escape the flames. The blaze broke out just after 7pm, prompting the evacuation of 25 residents, and detectives have established a crime scene as they investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
