I am not the perfect dad.  But I am better than I used to be.  Mostly because I learned these lessons, which I want to share with you.

As a sidenote, these lessons apply to ALL relationships, not just kids.  Your relationship with your significant other, your friends, your colleagues, and everybody else around you would be better of you do these things.
