Tonight reminded me what the real payoff looks like. Sometimes I catch myself slipping into that familiar need for validation — the pat on the back, the appreciation, the praise. Then my sixteen-year-old daughter asked me to lay with her while she worked through some thoughts before falling asleep. That moment was the proof. All the presence, all the love, all the tough conversations, all my apologies when I knew I was wrong… it’s paying off in ways no one else sees. I've built trust.
