Peter’s denial of Jesus is a story widely known in the gospels. What often goes ‘under the radar’ is how Jesus promises restoration to Peter even before Peter denies Jesus. Jesus prays, restores, and empowers Peter to ‘strengthen the brothers’, something we see Peter doing in the book of Acts. Jesus embodies the spirit of a true Father who comes alongside each of us and says “Through my Holy Spirit, you got this!” We then, like Peter, can be people who embody the spirit of an advocate with those around us.
