With Father’s day coming up this weekend, I wanted to honor a specific group of fathers: #GirlDads. Whenever you have a chance to impact another person’s life, it shouldn’t be taken lightly. All the dads out there have a supreme opportunity to do just that. They get to impact the life of someone that they helped to create and that they helped to develop. So dads, embrace the opportunity to BE dad in the most impactful and the most powerful way. To the dads who are out there making sure that they go above and beyond, we appreciate you. Happy Fathers Day! In this episode, I speak with my guests, three amazing girl dads, and we discuss what they’ve learned on their parenting journey so far. Takeaways:

    • “Being a dad is probably one of the most impactful, precious roles that a man gets to have, but, being a girl dad…there is nothing that could take the place of a girl's relationship and desire for a relationship with her father.” - Denise Taylor
    • “ I know there are so many people, including myself who may not have had a relationship that they desire, but I want you to know that we all get a chance to have a loving, fatherly relationship with God” - Denise Taylor
    • “More is caught than taught. They're always watching, no matter what you're doing.” - Ryan Jor El
    • “You want your kids to say “Hey, I can go to my dad, I can go to my mom, and they're going to be there for me no matter what's going on.” - Dave Guitana
    • “The relationship between a dad and the daughter is so important to model what she should be looking for in her future, in a husband, and how she should be expected to be treated by men as she grows up.” - Dan Buss
    • Father’s Day Wisdom:

      • “There's always going to be more chores to get done, but there's not going to be so many times that she comes up to you and says, ‘Dance with me, daddy!’ and those are the memories you're going to remember.” - Dan Buss
      • “Just let them know that you're there to talk whenever they need it. You know, you might not understand everything that women go through, I still don't and I'm almost sixty. So, just be there for the kids; let them know that you there, and that you will always be there.” - Dave Guitana
      • “Moments matter. If they ask you to do something, do it. - Ryan Jor El
      • “There are blended families. There are those who grew up without a father, grew up without a mother, things like that. And so you need to make sure that you're still active and present in that child's life, no matter what. And so active and present parenting is critical to these kids. It doesn't matter how you feel about the mother of their children. What matters is that you're there for that child and you don't stop being there for them.” - Ryan Jor El
