 Children – Ephesians 6:1, 2

• A command with a Promise

• Honor: to show value, deep respect in what you say, how you say it, what you do! Recognize their value, contributions!

• The Reward

 Fathers – Ephesians 6:3 - Do not Discourage Your Children

• Overbearing, controlling; self-centered focus (deal with own fears)

• Re-living your youth through them

• Honor them as special, unique, eternity-living, creation of God

• Explosions of anger

• Fearful of trusting you; afraid of rejection

• Unwillingness to admit mistakes

• This initiates broken relationships, lack of trust development

• Setting no boundaries

• See you as weak, unwilling to “say no” in love!

• Withholding your Expression of Love and Affirmation of them

• Leaves your child insecure and vulnerable to inferior influences
