Sonora Dodd from Spokane, Washington first suggested a "Father's Day" in 1909. Though her father was a Civil War Veteran, she believed her widowed father with six children deserved to be honored as a father. Father's Day is now celebrated around the world. This weekend we will encourage and honor fathers.
