Fathers That Nurture

Listen Later

There is a huge stereotype when it comes to families and the fathers that help raise our children within the black community.  Stereotypes that range from complete absence to fathers who are terrible examples only giving their children angry men who are without compassion.  In this segment we will talk with our guest about the importance of showing your children the softer side of fatherhood, we will talk about the plight of fathers within our community and what it means to feel like as a black man you are not able to share your range of emotions without being deemed angry and aggressive.  How can we come together to change the imagery of the fathers in our community? Especially, when a majority of the movies and shows we see are depicting us in the light of not being able to care with compassion or show us as struggling to show our kids the love they deserve and need.  Our guest shares what is in the mind and heart of a strong, caring and loving father who only wants to cherish his queen and protect his children.  We hope that you enjoy this conversation at the table while we talk about "Fathers That Nurture."
