I want to say a massive thank you to Lou, for sharing her courageous story with me today about genetic cancer genes and having preventative surgery. Last year when I found out that I had the genetic cancer gene HNPCC (Lynch syndrome), it made me think a lot about my future and the decisions I would need to make in the next coming years. I want to make awareness that most cancers start from genetics and a lot of people don't know they carry the cancer genes. I also want to make awareness that if you get tested early enough it might just save your life, yes I know the tests are uncomfortable and embarrassing, but that 5 minutes of uncomfortableness and embarrassment could just save your life.
