Faye Wattleton was a women’s rights activist and educator dedicated to improving the lives of women everywhere. She was the first woman, first African American woman and the youngest person to serve as President of Planned Parenthood Federation of America.

Weekdays at 7:19 a.m. during Morning Edition in March     Raising Up Ohio's Women shares the stories of some of the most influential women from Ohio. This series honors the accomplishments that women have made in the arts, sciences, mathematics, education and activism to name a few. Each segment highlights a different woman's achievements toward bettering Ohio and our world.  "Raising Up Ohio's Women" is made possible, in part, by a generous gift provided by the Principle Family Action Fund, along with friends of Toledo Rotary and Toledo Symphony, in honor of Sue and Doug Neckers who were fully committed to public service.
