The legendary Sheree Rose, also know to listeners as Robin's kink root, joins us for an enlightening conversation about her Kink legacy. We discuss her Sadomasochistic musings that intertwine art, power dynamics, and pain. From her monogamous marriage, to her partnership with Bob Flanagan starting in 1980 until his death in 1996, to her more recent 12 year collaboration with Martin O-Brien, Sheree approaches kink as art and kinky art as commentary on oppressive systems. We learn about her and Bob's early exhibitions at the New Museum of NY and Santa Monica Museum, the Society of Janice, the women's group, Leather and Lace, and the inspiration Sheree pulls from the Goddess Kali.
