The FDA authorizes Pfizer's Covid-19 anti-viral pill, Paxlovid, which is designed to treat infected people at home when they experience mild to moderate symptoms, before they become ill enough to be hospitalized. Nearly 70,000 Americans are currently hospitalized with Covid-19, with the daily number of new cases spiking at over 151,000 in a 24% jump from last week.

Also tonight: Biden and Trump exchange kind words on vaccines, Biden says he plans to run for reelection especially if it’s against Trump, the jury is yet to reach a verdict in the trial of the ex-officer charged in the shooting of Daunte Wright and the January 6 Committee wants to talk to GOP Rep. Jim Jordan about his communications with Trump on the day of the Capitol insurrection.
