This the Smash system podcast. Welcome back. I’m Nino Prodan. Today I want to talk further about fear, which is what we’ve been talking about this week. And everybody talks about fear as something bad, something that you need to avoid. And I want to talk about the good parts of fear. Fear is something that keeps you honest, it helps you understand that something’s not right. The problem with fear is that you’re kind of hard wired to react to it to run away from it. But if you override that reaction, you can use fear to benefit you. You can turn it into your superpower. But the problem is most people instead of pushing through that initial reaction to run away to stop doing what they’re doing, they give into it. And because of that fear stops them from doing something that’s out of the ordinary, might possibly have some danger to it. And it’s danger. It’s not something that’s going to kill you. It’s not a tiger that’s attacking you. But when your brain triggers fear, that’s the way you react, you react like something’s going to kill you. So you run away from it, you stop doing it. You say, Oh, no, that’s too dangerous. I can’t. Okay, that’s great. You can turn fear into a superpower. But how do you do it? Well, the first key to turning fear into a superpower is actually feeling the fear. And this is something that most people don’t do because your brain is hardwired to just ignore it or try to solve it. It’s not a problem to solve. It’s an emotion. So don’t run away from whatever you’re trying to do feel that emotion. It’s actually there to tell you something. It’s there to give you information. And if you feel that emotion, it’ll start to give you understanding, understanding into the situation your subconscious runs very quickly, it analyzes Is everything in every moment to see if there’s something there to kill you. And it compares it to a database that you have stored from every instant of your life, to tell you if it sees danger, and the danger doesn’t necessarily have to kill you, it could just be something that’s a threat. So fear lets you detect threats, even before you can consciously perceive it. your unconscious mind can see it before you can make sense of it. So use fear as an early warning system, to feel the emotion and then start to analyze that feelings start to analyze the emotion that’s coming through. Look at the situation you’re in. What is it that fear is telling you about and then take the time to decide whether or not there’s a truth to the danger. Whether or not the alert that’s going off is valid. If it’s it’s valid and take some steps to correct it. But if it’s not, now that you’ve accepted the motion, you can move on. And this is creating courage. Courage is not about ignoring fear. It’s about using fear. It’s about engaging the fear. When you engage that emotion and feel it and then understand it. That’s what courage is. So now you have fear as an early detection system. To help you understand whether or not something’s wrong. All you need to do is feel it, understand it, and then decide what to do. I’m Nino Prodan. And I will talk to you tomorrow.
