Fear attacks us right where our faith lives and keeps us from stepping into the plans God has for us. During the Christmas story we see several “visitations” where angelic messengers of God visiting human beings. Angelic Visits almost always start with the words “Fear Not”, because Angels are, frankly, terrifying creatures, and an encounter with one will always bring fear. We will find as we study these visitations that there really was Nothing to Fear as each of the characters walked in obedience to the plan of God. Fear is alive and well today, but God is still calling each of us to step out in faith and follow His plan. Join us as we see how the Christmas Story helps us to understand that “… God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.” 2 Timothy 1:7 (NLT).
