Mom, Dad …if your teen made a list of his or her biggest fears …what would be at the top?

In over thirty years working with teens, I’ve learned that kids fear rejection more than anything else. And your job as a mom or dad is to show your love and acceptance… even when a son or daughter is giving nothing in return.

If you’ve withheld love as a disciplinary measure in the past… now’s the time to stop. Withholding love and respect only increases the pain, confusion and anger your child may already feel.

Next time you’re tempted to walk away, remember your teen is craving your love. Put your arm around ‘em … and make sure they know …you love ‘em no matter what!
