The curses found in this text are overwhelming - futility, starvation and spiraling depravity in the midst of a siege, and a reverse of the covenant blessings. Lest we think this is just an "Old Testament" version of God, hell is much worse. Always we should fear the name of the LORD even as we joyfully and thankfully enjoy His blessings.
