Leviticus 23:9-14 tells us about how the ancient Hebrew Israelite people celebrated a time of thanksgiving to YHWH. They were to be openhanded with the blessings they received from God. Their response of generosity was a result of understanding God’s blessing and abundance. God was good to them, so they were to celebrate His goodness with generosity and festivities.
